Mansfield University Fall 2016 Commencement Ceremony Canceled

Due to forecasted inclement weather, and out of concern for the safety of our graduates and their guests, Mansfield University has canceled the fall 2016 Commencement ceremony. The ceremony was scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m. in Decker Gymnasium.

“Based upon the current weather forecast for North Central Pennsylvania and the northeast region, the University has decided to take this precaution to protect the safety and wellbeing of all those traveling to and from campus,” said University Director of Environmental Health and Safety, Jim Welch.

The cancellation will not affect the official conferring of degrees; degrees will be conferred upon completion of degree requirements as usual.  Graduates who wish to participate in an official Commencement ceremony can walk in the University’s spring 2017 ceremony. Details of the spring Commencement ceremony will be posted on the web site and will be emailed to all December graduates. Graduates who do not wish to return for spring Commencement exercises can receive their degree covers and program by contacting the Mansfield University Registrar’s Office at or by calling 570.662.4202
