MCEL Offering Workshops & Presentations

MANSFIELD, PA— The Mansfield University Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (MCEL) is presenting a series of events during the spring semester.

On February 16, MCEL, in conjunction with The University of Scranton Small Business Development Center (SBDC), will present a Build your Business Workshop in Memorial Hall, Room 107, 6-9 p.m. This three hour workshop covers all the basics of starting a business in Pennsylvania.

The workshop will focus on business structure, licenses and registrations, taxation, market research and local business development resources. There will also be instruction on how to develop a business plan.

Cost of the workshop is $15. Checks should be made payable to Scranton University SBDC. The fee can be paid by credit card by calling (570)941-7588.

On April 5, 7 p.m. in Alumni Hall, Room 307, Steve Keeler will give a presentation on how Cayuga Records and the C3 Studio were formed. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Keeler is chair of English/Humanities/Communications Division and director of Telecommunications/Electronic Media Programs/WDWN-FM at Cayuga Community College in Auburn, NY. He was instrumental in acquiring grant funds for this project and in establishing these projects.

Introduction to E-Marketing, a three part workshop will be held on April 6, 13 and 20, 6-9 p.m. in Elliott Hall, Room 102.

Presented by Donna Yale of the Pennsylvania Technology Assistance Program, this workshop is designed to help small businesses use electronic media as part of an overall marketing plan. It will include how to design web sites for best results, email marketing, and social media to market your business. Cost of the workshop is $130.
