Mountaineer Leadership Program Recognizes Fall Graduates

MANSFIELD, PA— Thirty-seven students were honored at the Mansfield University Mountaineer Leadership Program (MLP) recognition celebration for the fall semester on Tuesday, November 18. 

The MLP, now in its fourth year, is designed to give students three tiers of leadership learning:  Bronze, which focuses on personal leadership; Silver, which concentrates on leadership within teams and groups; and Gold, which develops change leadership.    

As students complete a level, they move to the next.  Each level requires students to complete six interactive workshops and a corresponding essay for each workshop.  Workshops are facilitated by volunteers, including administration, staff, faculty and students.

Students who completed the Gold level this fall are: Christyna Cain, Kacie Bush, Julisa Epps, Lyndie Hughes, Juanita Parks and Katelyn Plaska.

 Students who completed the Silver level are: Angela Jackson, Lauren Kingsley,  Katie Martin, David Post, Amanda Sileo, Cliff Torpy and Kelly-Ann Vaccaro.

Students who completed the Bronze level are: Jessica Barrett, Nicholas Casselman, Lauren Emery, Stephen Gershey, Matthew Guagliardo, Scott Hakes, Emily Hameza, Nicole Herr, Kylene Johnson, Holly Jones ,Pamela Kichline, Matthew Kloss, Joshua Laughlin, Angela Martinez, Nicole Moore, Jessica Prickett, Monica Race, Kevin Richardson, Ashley Rogers, Brittany Shilling, Courtney Swendsen , Kreshel Wilson Ashley Wise and Alexandra Woolford.

The MLP is managed through the Career Development Center and the Mu Leadership Institute. The program is free for the students, thanks to support from the Mansfield University Foundation, which allocated seed money for the program.
