MANSFIELD, PA—The Mansfield University Marching Band, “The Spirit and the Pride of Pennsylvania,” gave an impromptu performance at Team USA House in London today (August 7). The performance, captured by Bryant Rayer, was picked up on the ESPN website (espn.go.com) and is also uploaded to Youtube at the Team USA site.
The Team USA House is a place where athletes, families and certain VIPs can spend time while at the 2012 London Olympics.
The MU Marching Band is one of the units that have performed on the trip to London and Paris. The MU contingent, led by Director of Bands Adam Brennan and Assistant Director of Bands Nathan Rinnert, have also provided a concert band, brass band, jazz combo and a Dixie-Land group at a number of venues during their tour, which wraps up August 9.
The MU travel group has also had several sightseeing and educational opportunities and the chance to attend an Olympic event.
