Master's in Organizational Leadership to be Offered
October 24, 2008
MANSFIELD, PA—Mansfield University will begin offering a master’s degree program in organizational leadership in the fall of 2009. The program received the approval of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) Board of Governors on Thursday, October 23.
The new organizational leadership degree program will be offered online, making it accessible to students virtually anywhere. Students who enroll in the program will be able to enhance their knowledge about leadership and apply their leadership skills across a variety of settings.
“We are excited to offer this flexible, rigorous degree in graduate leadership development,” MU President Maravene Loeschke said. “At Mansfield we are dedicated to providing leadership development for our undergraduate and graduate students and for the community and region. This particular program is especially suited to working adults who are looking to move into leadership positions in their field.”
The curriculum will support emerging workforce needs in both the public and private sectors and is in line with PASSHE’s efforts to serve regional economic and community development needs. The need for the program was determined through a variety of meetings with business leaders and focus groups. Students will need to complete 33 credit hours to earn the degree.
